Ahead of the upcoming U.N. General Assembly and the High-level Conference on the Situation of Rohingya Muslims and Other Minorities in Myanmar on September 30, Fortify Rights and Think-Film Impact Production present an exclusive preview of “Lost Land,” a powerful new feature film that follows two Rohingya siblings fleeing a refugee camp in Bangladesh in search of safety and a new life in Malaysia. Starring Rohingya actors and rooted in real-life testimonies, the film captures the trauma, statelessness, and resilience Rohingya children face in their lives. Its core message is simple: every child deserves a nation they can call home.
The screening is exclusive The Bangkok International Film Festival, and this advanced screening is invitation only and not transferable to non-invited guests.
Thailand is often on the route of Rohingya on the move and can play a significant role in protecting the Rohingya and all refugees. Fortify Rights and Think-Film will host a screening of this film, followed by a group discussion on improving protections for Rohingya in Thailand, led by Rohingya activists, policymakers, and representatives of the international community. The group discussion will be in both English and Thai.
