The Fort Supports Podcast on the Torture and Enforced Disappearance of Women in Thailand
On February 19, 2025, The Fort provided space for the Thai human rights organization, the Cross-Cultural Foundation (CrCF) to record the third podcast episodes of its podcast series, “The Missing Truth.” This third episode focused on cases of torture and forced disappearance involving women in Thailand, highlighting personal stories and raising awareness about gender-based violence and impunity.

Unseen Wounds: Photographs of the Continuing Mental Toll of Genocide
On November 7, 2024, The Fort hosted a panel discussion entitled, “The Infliction of Mental Harm as an Act of Genocide Against Rohingya” to launch the four-day photography exhibition “Unseen Wounds: Photographs of the Continuing Mental Toll of Genocide." The exhibition featured photographs by award-winning Bangladeshi photographer Saiful Huq Omi and portrayed the mental harm inflicted by the Myanmar military on Rohingya genocide survivors.
Resistance with Style: How to Design Effective Political Campaigns
On October 19, 2024, The Fort hosted the opening of a week-long exhibition entitled “Resistance with Style.” Organized by the Museum of Popular History, the exhibition will showcase the museum’s collection of t-shirts designed for mass protest movements and political campaigns in Thailand over the past few decades. It will also explore the often-overlooked role of fashion and designs as tools of resistance.
The Fort Talks: Crimes in Archival Form
During The Fort Talks, human rights defenders and researchers will join Dr. Ken MacLean, author of the book Crimes in Archival Form: Human Rights, Fact Production, and Myanmar, to explore the practical and ethical questions about human rights investigations.
“Echoes of Resilience”: The Second Film in the Series on Rohingya Sisterhood and Community Care
On August 31, 2024, The Fort hosted a film screening and panel discussion organized by the Rohingya Maìyafuìnor Collaborative Network (RMCN), a Rohingya-led, women-led, and refugee-led organization. Echoes of Resilience is part of a film series produced by the Alternative ASEAN Network for Burma in collaboration with the RMCN. The event also included a panel discussion with one of the film’s producers and two Rohingya women human rights defenders from RMCN.
