On June 18, 2026,  The Fort will host a report launch and panel discussion organized by the Youth Congress Rohingya (YCR), a Rohingya refugee-led, camp-based organization, for the report, From Arrival to Survival: Conditions of Newly Arrived Rohingya Refugees in Bangladesh.

The 70-page report documents the experience of newly arrived Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, after being forcibly displaced by ongoing armed conflict and violence in Rakhine State, Myanmar. In the camps in Bangladesh, newly arrived Rohingya refugees face significant barriers to accessing humanitarian services and sustaining livelihoods, including inadequate shelters, food insecurity, restrictions on access to healthcare, movement, and other challenges. The report also documents gender-based violence and other forms of violence affecting refugees in the camps.

Furthermore, the report documents atrocities committed by both the Arakan Army and the Myanmar military junta.

The research was conducted by a team of Rohingya researchers in the refugee camps. The report is based on data collected from 370 newly arrived Rohingya refugees between 2024 and 2025, living across different camps in Cox’s Bazar District. Drawing on these findings, Youth Congress Rohingya presents 30 recommendations to the Government of Bangladesh, the international community, and humanitarian organizations.

The report will be launched at an in-person event in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It will be held in English language and livestreamed on The Fort Facebook page with simultaneous interpretation in Rohingya language. The report will be published in English.

The event is free of charge and open to the public.
