Income-Generation Activities for Refugee Women

Since November 19, 2024, The Fort has hosted a series of workshops organized by HOPE BKK to support income-generation activities for refugee women living in Bangkok. The workshops include learning sewing and embroidery skills.

The Fort hosted follow-up workshops by HOPE BKK on December 18, January 28, February 25 and March 18, 2025. During the January 28 workshop, ten participants from Somalia and Sri Lanka joined the activities, and during the February 25, 2025 workshop, 16 participants, including Somali and Sri Lankan refugees, joined the activities. During the March 18, 2025 workshop, 11 participants, including women refugees from Afghanistan, Somalia, and Sri Lanka, joined the activities.

These workshops are part of a series of workshops organized by HOPE BKK. The Fort has agreed to host future workshops to support the refugee women.

HOPE BKK is a Thailand-based organization that works directly with marginalized communities. Dedicated to improving the lives of displaced people by providing tangible support, such as access to training programs a safe community space, education and initiatives focusing on women and children. Hope-Bangkok plays a crucial role in addressing their needs, often in challenging circumstances. The organization also raises awareness about the struggles these communities face while respecting local sensitivities. It collaborates with partners, donors, and volunteers to implement impactful support.
